Hello everyone!
I’ve been completing the hour of the code assignments for my graduate degree in instructional technology. Also, I want to brush up on my basic coding skills with block programming to prepare for computer science week in early December. Code.org is a great website (ALSO FREE!) to all students, educators, and parents. Educators can create log-ins for their students and the students can complete the assignments given to them. I highly recommend hour of the code because it is simple and fun, which also helps students in learning basic block programming/coding skills. Hour of the code also incorporates interesting and familiar themes, such as Star Wars, Frozen, and Minecraft with videos to assist you if you need help finishing a level. When students completed the levels for hour of the code, they get a print out of their certificate. How awarding it is to get a certificate with your name on it for an assignment that you completed! Below is how my certificate looks like for completing hour of the code in Star Wars.
