Hello awesome people!
If you live in NYC like me, I hope you are staying safe and indoors from the Canadian wildfires. I am keeping Canada in my prayers hoping that the wildfires will go away soon!
Today, I want to share about that I am officially certified for Apple Learning Coach! It was an intense 6 months (with 6 modules and 2 modules being full-day sessions on Zoom with other participants of the program).
My takeaways from Apple Learning Coach:
- The program goes over certain apps/programs, such as Keynote, Pages, Garageband, iMovie, iClips, and Sketchnote. You will learn how to use these apps and programs and implement the use of them in the classroom.
- There is a module specifically dedicated to good coaching practices and cycle. You will have the opportunity to practice good coaching practices and refine your coaching work with fellow participants on Zoom.
- You will meet many participants and learn from their experiences! It was very wonderful hearing different perspectives in learning how their school uses Apple products.
- The program counts for CTLE hours and continuing education credits from Lamar University (as of Spring 2023). This is very helpful for tenured or veteran (with 3 or more teaching years) educators maintaining their professional license (like myself!).
Overall, I still recommend the Apple Learning Coach for mentor teachers, cooperating teachers, and coaches. It is a lot of work BUT it is totally worthwhile! I am going to end this post with one of my favorite quotes that a good friend of mine told me:
Learning is lifelong and you can never stop learning. Once you stop learning, you are regressing.
A good friend of mine
