Hello awesome educators and friends,
As I am preparing for the first day of school (this Thursday) and lamenting over the last day of summer break, I can’t help but be excited for the new school year. This is mainly because I am excited for a new beginning, which means new changes and opportunities!
Since the students are coming back from a long summer break, they will definitely need some brain breaks throughout the day to remain focused! Therefore, I am sharing some of my favorite online brain breaks that you might want to try in your classroom.
- http://www.gonoodle.com – This website has many free and awesome dancing videos for your students (and yourself) to follow along!
- https://kidzbop.com/ – Kidz Bop is a group of kids performing dance moves and singing kid-friendly lyrics to popular songs.
- https://quickdraw.withgoogle.com/ – Your students can draw the item that Google gives with the machine trying to guess what it is, with students learning about machine learning along the way.
- https://www.tate.org.uk/kids/games-quizzes – This is an art-based website and it has kid-friendly activities, such as painting online. This program is similar to a student drawing or coloring on paper for a brain break.
- https://www.abcya.com/ – This website has free educational games for students to play for a few minutes.
- https://cosmickids.com/ – This website has free yoga and mindfulness videos for students to follow along! I love Cosmic Kids videos so much because they allow students to relax after a stressful activity, such as a unit test.
Give these recommendations a try and let me know in the comment below how it went in your classroom!
xoxo,
Kelly
