Hello awesome friends & visitors!
I am so sorry that I missed teacher tech tip Tuesday last week! I am currently very busy between balancing teaching, finishing up my masters in educational technology, attending yoga and zumba classes, and meeting up with old friends. I do want to apologize if I have to miss some teacher tech tip Tuesdays later on because I am finishing my capstone project in edtech.
Asides from work and school, I am super duper happy about autumn being in full effect! I’ve bought tickets to a Halloween event with my friends and we’re going as characters from Winnie the Pooh. I’ve also signed up for fall foliage, apple cider/apple picking, and farmer market trips. If you are in the NYC area (like me), check out the farmer markets in Union Square every Saturdays and the Hudson Valley area (1-1.5 hour drive from NYC) for more autumn events.
For today’s teacher tech tip Tuesday, I want to focus on typing practice for young kiddos! My students are working on their published writing piece and they are having a super hard time typing. They struggle to find the letters and keys. Not only does this affect them typing up their published writing piece, it also affects them when they are trying to log into their accounts. Many of my students actually told me they want to learn typing but many elementary schools in NYC do not currently offer those lessons. Therefore, I gave a few students some websites to practice their typing skills and speed at home.
Here is my list of my favorite typing games:

ABCya has amazing typing games for students in all age range. I definitely recommend ABCya, especially because it is free!
Hope you are enjoy this list of typing games!
xoxo,
Kelly
